Headset Modeling + Advertising Poster

Design a headset and an ad poster for it
3D Modeling, Rendering, Graphic Design
3 Weeks + 7 Weeks / 3D Modeling 1 & ID Graphic
This is a combination of two projects, a three-week 3D Modeling project where I learned to build the headset from the scratch, and a seven-week graphic design project where I designed a logo and an advertising poster for the headset. Both are learning projects where I start with little to no experience of the subject matter. I'm pleased with the outcome.

Industrial Design Graphic Logo and Advertising Poster

Experience & Immersive

I first had to come up with a brand. I named it Emersi, meaning it will provide its user an immersive experience. I then started to ideate around different types of fonts and trying to come up with a logo.

My Two Pennies

Thought Train

I started with Geometric font first then moved to more organic fonts. After many different options tested, I want my headset logo to look more like a sound wave, therefore, I introduced more flow and curve lines. I find that it is extremely hard to make an entire logo out of flowy lines and curves while balancing the logo and making it look nice. My instructor Allison helped me a lot on this part to fine-tune and adjust the curves. Then I started to work on my poster, I took three different directions...

First Direction: LONG LIVE THE BEATLES

Second Direction: The Natural Selection

Third Direction: Work Play Work

First Direction: LONG LIVE THE BEATLES

At this stage, I finished and am satisfied with my final logo design and began to try to implement my logo design into the poster design. I tried many different placements and this seems to look the best. I also introduced a female character to keep this poster inclusive.

Second Direction: The Natural Selection

I still like the idea of evolution, but I changed the well-known human evolve picture to the evolution of "Sound Machine": from a monkey clapping its hands making a sound to the iconic Walkman in 1979, then to the future with Emersi headset.

Third Direction: Work Play Work

I desaturate the surrounding of the piano man to make him and the headset stands out more. I also really like the improvement of the catchphrase, it took me hours of "internet research" to find an English slang that fits the poster.
